fee increase 2021

Every financial year the Tribunal and Court fee increases. These have recently been announced and will take effect on 01 July 2021.

We also anticipate an increase to the visa application charges to occur in the new financial year as well. These are usually announced within the Federal budget but there has been no news yet. Nonetheless, the possibility of an increase cannot be eliminated.

We note that there was no increase in the last financial year for visa application charges, possibly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is difficult to tell whether the increase will only be indexed from the last charge, or whether there will be a steeper fee increase as a result of the years skipped.

As of now, the notable fee increases are:

  • High Court Review Application Fee – $3,480 for individuals, $10,485 for corporations, $15,745 for publicly listed company
  • Federal Court Review Application Fee (appeal from AAT) – $4,895 for individuals, $10,570 for corporations
  • Federal Circuit Court Review Application Fee – $3,365
  • Administrative Appeals Tribunal fees – $1,846

For the full list of the fee increases, please view the Government Gazette

You may consult with us to find out more. If you intend to apply for a visa, you should try to do so before any increase in fees.
