SID Visa (482) & 186 DE Visa Occupation Lists
The Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) comprises 456 occupations
The new CSOL occupation list will apply to:
The new Skills in Demand (SID) Visa has replaced the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (Subclass 482) Visa.
Keys details of SID Visa:
- Duration: Visa holders can work in Australia for up to 4 years (or up to 5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
- Three streams:Specialist Skills, Core Skills and Labour Agreement.
- Flexibility to change employers: Under the Skills in Demand (SID) visa, all periods of full-time sponsored employment with any approved employer contribute towards meeting the permanent residency requirements. This policy allows SID visa holders to change employers without resetting their accumulated qualifying work experience, as long as the new employer is also an approved sponsor. Consequently, work experience gained under multiple approved employers counts towards the eligibility criteria for permanent residency.
The direct entry stream allows highly skilled individuals to obtain permanent residency without having to hold a SID Visa.
